This deck feels warm and inviting especially for anyone new to the tarot. Following RWS (Rider-Waite-Smith) format, with traditional symbols and playful witches, cats, and various landscapes. I feel like you can get really accurate and friendly readings from these cards as the artwork evokes youthful and inviting images. Another well known tarot deck, known for its darker, bizarre, surrealism imagery. Patrick Valenza created each card by starting with a drawing and then would gather various textures, scan them in to the computer to manipulate the images and add depth to the characters. Not sure if I’m quite ready for it’s creepy-ness, or how I would do reading with this deck, but it has been on my wish list for years because it is so unique! You can purchase the deck here!

Fabio Listrani has a way with lines, sacred geometry, and his illustrations that peak curiosity, with graceful, yet mysterious characters. When constructing this wish list, I felt compelled to add this. It is graceful, but also has a feeling of darkness mixed with light. Beautiful black and white deck line work illustrations with skeletons, plants, and coffee. The suits are mugs, knives, canes, and coins. The artist CatRocketship specializes in drawing people or animals with skeletons inside. On their Etsy shop they state how this project came about because they needed to find focus. A deck with classic colors black, white and gold! Skeletons mixed with floral accents. Seriously how can you go wrong with this deck? It also is a pip deck with suits cups, swords, wands, and rings. For those that don’t know, a pip deck refers to when only the major arcana is illustrated with people and the suits (with exception to the court cards) are depicted with mostly symbols. In the case of this deck, the cups are symbolized by skulls, the wands are symbolized with various flowers, the swords are depicted by longswords and daggers, and the rings are showcased by hands bearing rings or ring like ornaments. A cute halloween deck full of black cats, ghosts, and jack o’lanterns. This deck has a vintage feel. It’s design and illustrations remind me of most 1990’s decks. I can not believe I am writing that the 90’s feel vintage, that is when I grew up! The deck does give off that type of feel in my opinion. This deck honors crows and ravens with RSW symbolism. For me when I see crows (especially in cinematic movies), I get some sort of energy that makes me associate them with death. It is a common superstition that crows symbolize death or bad luck. This deck really takes me away from that feeling. You can purchase the deck here!

This deck mixes vintage anatomy drawings that are paired with plants and flowers. This is a pip deck, that I find to be visually stunning! Many people rave about how beautiful these cards are but how thin that card stock is. You can purchase the deck here!

Probably one of my favorites on the wish list. I discovered this deck when my cousin posted a picture of the Judgement Card. This is when I found out my other cousin had given her a tarot reading with this deck. I didn’t even know he read Tarot! The illustrations are really whimsical and I feel like they are dark but cute enough to have good readings from them. I’m really in love with the artwork! Honestly, I just love the simplicity of these cards and the 2D illustrations. Love the twist on certain major arcana cards.
